Nicaragua and Medellin
I normally don’t write much about Nicaragua being that it is
basically home and I pretty lazy when I am there. However, my son and his lovely Spanish girlfriend
came to visit. After a long and hot day traveling they arrives in Nicaragua.
First night was an amazing sunset and baby turtles were making their way to
sea. Cool to see.
The kids were boogie boarding while I was napping and at
night there board games with me being the worst drawer in our galaxy. We also,
had a rum taste tasting with Dave and I agreeing that the 5 year old and 7 year
old was the same and the 18 years old was pretty friggin good.
Dave and Sara hiked up Ometepe which is a hot and sticky
grind while I napped. And we had a great night out at a local restaurant that I
really like and being the Sara’s is from Spain she can converse with the locals
in the non-caveman fashion that I do. Dave and I meet up in various places and
always great to see him.
Medellin
More perfect weather,
low prices and great vibe. A bit busy with closing but great to be
here. You know are seeing a Colombian
when you sit through 4 hours of soccer. Absolutely the episode from the
Simpsons.
We went to Pueblo which is outside of Medellin and it was a
great day. A big rock sticks out in the middle of nowhere that you walk to the
top for great views. Over 700 steep steps up so a little bit of a grind but not
so bad. The town itself is really nice and charming. To me very Colombia and a
great day out.
No salsa dancing this time or at least not in public but
next time perhaps when I am back in May.
