Colombia
July 2016
I can’t remember the last time I flew on British Airways.
Not as good as I thought it would or
should be given it prices but ok. The business class seats have a weird
configuration with one forward and one back so until they put up the divider
you are staring straight at the person beside you. Thankfully, I never travel
without my Groucho Marx glasses. And the booking system was down so it was a
two hour check in and that was getting some people – ok, I don’t know where to
find the brackets on this Spanish keyboard so you are missing out on something
special.
American Airlines from London to Miami was a pleasant
surprise. I envisioned them as the hostels of airlines and expected to see a
lot of stray pubic hair but it pretty good. Nice seat with decent amenities,
nice lounge, good service and that is my fecking reviews of airlines. I am at
the point now as long as ISIS doesn’t blow the fecking things up I am happy.
And I guess if ISIS did blow the fecking things up I would be blogging about
it.
Nice to back to Colombia for three weeks. Not as busy this
hitch but a few non sexy things to do.
Check out this Dude.
This was on the way from the airport. At one point we
measured his speed and it was 80 km/h. And as he would go around a steep curve
he would lean in like a snow boarder and touch the ground as he went. Crazy but
fun to watch.
Nice to be back in Medellin. The City of Eternal Spring. My
place is starting to look like I actually own it and with some more plants and
pictures I am good to go. We went to Cartagena which I think is Spanish for
fecking hot. The old city was great but crowded with tourists and to me had a
New Orleans vibe to it but you can see its sense of history. We stayed on the
beach and did a couple of trips into the center. There was a ceviche restaurant that I wanted to check
out. It had an amazing amount of ceviche dishes and it was great.
You can see the Spanish influence for sure but I didn’t see
any big ass dead pigs hanging from the raptors. The beaches are nice but after
8 years in Nicaragua I am can an uppity little prick when it comes to what I
think of them but still nice.
2 more weeks in Medellin and I should have my place 100
percent complete in the next few days.
